One winter day I was meandering
about town looking for things to take pictures of.
As you might expect, one of the
best scenes of the day was waiting only 3 blocks from home.
It's hard to tell by this scale,
but someone had clipped one of the signals at the intersection of
Mineral Point Road and Gammon Road
on Madison's far west side, right by West Towne
Mall. Some city engineer had set
the light back up and wired it in. As you can see
by the shots above and below, it
was working just fine.
It's a little hard to tell from the shots above how short this thing really was. For perspective:
It looked like something transported
out of a drag race strip.
Timing is everything; two days
later it had grown back to normal size.
